When nothing seems to go right, and all around you seem lost; the people who you thought were your friends are not really your friend, they only want what you have, and then you have not. No matter which way you turn, every door is closed, every avenue is blocked. Then you feel used and lied to, and feel empty and desperate to escape into a fantasy world which leads to nowhere.
